It’s so simple to make air fryer frozen waffles that you don’t even need to bother with any other way of making them. They come out perfectly crisp and fluffy inside.

I’ve been using my air fryer for just about everything these days. I have this one useful appliance sitting on my counter and I can pop just about anything into it. Why not waffles? Not surprisingly, they turned out perfect.
Now I’ve tried so many different types of waffles in the air fryer. It’s pretty much the perfect breakfast hack. Pop them in and they’re done in 2 minutes. You can even make waffle sticks – one of my favorite breakfast finger foods for on the go.

Ingredients You Need
This is going to be an easy list. You really only need one ingredient.
Frozen waffles – Any kind you like! They can be thin or thick, Belgium-style, filled with blueberries – whatever brand or type you like.
Make Your Own – Unfortunately, most frozen waffles aren’t amazing. We often get Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Toaster Waffles and they are fairly good, but nothing beats homemade. If you have a waffle iron and you’ve made your own waffles, you can freeze them and then use the air fryer to toast them when you want. This is a great way to do meal prep.
» Here’s a recipe for homemade waffles.
Equipment Information
- Air fryer: I use this 4-quart basket-style air fryer. It’s large enough to fit most things without overlapping
- Kitchen tongs: It’s very easy to remove food from your air fryer with kitchen tongs. I use these kitchen tongs that are silicon coated so they don’t scratch the interior.
How to Toast Frozen Waffles in the Air Fryer
Place the frozen waffles in the air fryer basket. There’s no need to preheat. Make sure they aren’t overlapping or stacked on top of each other.

Cook on 380˚F for 2 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 1 minute or until your desired crispiness is reached. For me, 3 minutes is perfect, but it does depend on the thickness of the waffle. Some might need more or less time.
Storing Instructions
The best part about these waffles is that they can easily be taken from the freezer and put in the air fryer in no time. That makes it so you don’t really need to store leftovers. Just make what you need each time.
If you do happen to have leftovers, you can keep them in a bag in the fridge for a few days and just reheat them in the air fryer when you’re ready.

Serving Suggestions
My favorite way to serve waffles is with butter, syrup, and maybe some whipped cream on top. If you’re taking them on the go, you might take a small container with syrup to dip them in.
- Chocolate drizzle
- Fresh fruit
- Dusted powdered sugar on top
- Peanut butter and jam
