Why You’ll Love It

  • Crunchy Exterior: Experience the satisfying crunch of a perfectly toasted tortilla shell, thanks to the magic of the air fryer, which crisps up the wrap to perfection without the need for excess oil.
  • Customizable Fillings: Enjoy the freedom to customize your crunch wrap with your favorite ingredients, from seasoned ground meat or tofu to a variety of veggies, cheese, and sauces, allowing you to create a personalized flavor experience every time.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Ground beef – Use a lean version so you don’t have to drain out a lot of fat. I usually use a 90/10.
  • Taco seasoning – You can use a packet from the store or try making your own with this recipe.
  • Flour tortillas – 10-12-inch tortillas work best here. Look for the burrito flour tortillas, they tend to be larger.
  • Refried beans – To make the refried beans, you can follow this homemade version, or you can buy canned refried beans or black beans.
  • Tostada shells – These are made from small corn tortillas.
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese – You can really use any other type of melting cheese, but I prefer to use cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican cheese blend.
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Tomato – Diced

  • 1 pound (454 g) ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 4 12-inch flour tortillas
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 4 tostada shells
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) sour cream
  • 1 cup (112 g) shredded cheese
  • 2 cups (144 g) shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato diced

  • Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, crumbling as it cooks, until the beef has browned, about 5 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning according to package directions.
  • Warm the tortillas and place them flat on a clean surface.
  • Add 1/4 cup of refried beans to the center of each tortilla. Add 1/2 cup of ground beef onto the top of the beans and spread it out in a large circle, the same size as the tostada shells. Place one tostada shell on top of the beef.
  • Spread some of the sour cream on the tostada. Sprinkle on the cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes.
  • Tightly fold the edges of the flour tortilla over the top of the stack, making pleats, until fully covered. Then flip the whole crunch wrap over to keep it secure.
  • Lightly spray both sides of the wrap with cooking oil. Set in the air fryer, seam-side down, and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 4 minutes. Flip the crunch wrap and cook for an additional 4 minutes.
  • You will likely need to cook them one at a time, depending on the size of your air fryer.

All air fryers have different wattage and may cook at different rates. You may need to adjust the time or temp for the best results.
