To make your own turkey patties, combine ground turkey, salt, pepper, paprika, seasoned salt, onion powder and breadcrumbs in a bowl and mix until evenly combined.
Form flat, round patties and place in refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up.
Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and add turkey patties. For homemade patties, cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8 minutes, flipping halfway. For frozen purchased turkey patties, cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Once done, dress each bun with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and a turkey patty.
Notes
Overpacking the patties can lead to dense, tough burgers. A gently formed patty will cook up juicier and with a better texture.
Add some cooking spray to homemade patties. This helps cook the burgers evenly and achieves a nice sear on the outside without drying out the inside.
To ensure your turkey burgers are cooked safely and to perfection, use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) for the burgers to be fully cooked.
All air fryers have different wattage and may cook at different rates. You may need to adjust the time or temp for the best results.
