Air Fryer Banana Chips are a great snack or simple dessert to make in the air fryer that require only a handful of ingredients and an air fryer to make.
Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/8-inch rounds.
Place the banana slices in a bowl and toss them with lemon juice to prevent browning.
If desired, sprinkle the banana slices with cinnamon and toss to coat evenly.
Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping.
Air fry at 260° F(125°C)for 15 minutes, flip and cook for 12 minutes more. Check them at this point. They should be crispy and golden brown. If they are still soft, cook for 3-4 more minutes and check again.
Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. They will firm up as they cool.
Notes
To ensure even cooking, slice the bananas uniformly. This not only improves the way they look but also guarantees consistent crispiness.
Experiment with the thickness of the banana slices. Thinner slices result in a crispier texture, while slightly thicker slices can provide a chewier bite.
Using lemon juice to stop the banana chips from turning brown will give them a slight lemon flavor. If you air fry the bananas as soon as you cut them you don't need to use the lemon juice.
All air fryers have different wattage and may cook at different rates. You may need to adjust the time or temp for the best results.
