This Air Fryer Filet Mignon is seasoned and cooked in the air fryer, resulting in a juicy steak with a nice crust that is topped with an indulgent compound butter.
Mix together the butter, garlic, parsley, and rosemary in a bowl.
Once blended, spoon the butter onto a piece of plastic wrap and roll it into a log, twisting the ends to hold it firmly.
Place the log in the refrigerator for 15 minutes, or until you’re ready to cook the steaks.
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature. Coat the steaks with olive oil. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Preheat the air fryer to 400° F for 3 minutes. Place the steaks in the basket so they are spread out and not touching.
Cook for 10 minutes for medium rare, turning the steaks over at the halfway point to ensure even cooking. Check the meat with a meat thermometer to determine internal temperature and continue cooking in 2 minute increments until your desired doneness is reached. For medium rare, you want 130°F (54°C), for medium it’s 140°F (60°C), for medium well it’s 150°F (66°C), for well done it’s 160°F (71°C).
Remove the steaks at the proper temperature and place them on a plate. Slice the compound butter. Place a slice on the top of each steak and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
If you don’t have salted butter, add a pinch of salt to the compound butter mixture.
Every air fryer differs as does the thickness of your steak, so you will need to use a meat thermometer after 10 minutes of cook time to get the proper doneness you prefer.
All air fryers have different wattage and may cook at different rates. You may need to adjust the time or temp for the best results.
