Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken quarters
  • 1/4 cup (18 g) chicken dry rub

Instructions

  • Season the chicken with the dry rub. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Position the chicken quarters inside the air fryer basket with enough space for air to circulate around each piece. If you are cooking 4 quarters, depending on the size of your air fryer, you might need to cook them in two separate batches.
  • Cook on 400˚F (204˚C) for 20 minutes. Flip the chicken and continue cooking for 10-12 more minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Allow the chicken to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Don't crowd the basket. Allow room for air to circulate around each piece of chicken.
  • Place the temperature probe in the thickest part of the chicken without hitting the bone for the most accurate reading.
  • Allow the dry rub to sit on the chicken for as long as possible. It will build extra flavor.
  • Air fryers come in different wattages, which can affect their cooking power. You may need to cook your food more or less than I do, based on your air fryer’s wattage. Times and temps are a general guideline.

All air fryers have different wattage and may cook at different rates. You may need to adjust the time or temp for the best results.
